Father’s Day Card-Making Projects

by Richelle Naegle

Father’s Day is coming up this weekend, and if you haven’t made your greeting cards yet. You still have a little bit of time. So why not try these fun Father’s Day card-making projects that Dad is sure to love?

Tool-Themed Father’s Day Cards

This first card (to the right) is from Lori Whitlock. You can find it in the Silhouette Studio. It was only $0.99. You could save even more if you buy one of our discounted download cards! I made this card using the Silhouette CAMEO. The card is 5″ wide by approximately 4″ tall. It has little pockets on the inside that are perfect for holding a gift card to Dad’s favorite store – or you could even make little coupons to put inside.

I wanted the silver to be shiny for this card, so I used the Cricut Metallics Poster Board. This paper cut is super nice, and it’s durable and heavy. I used foam adhesives for the pockets on the front to give it a little more dimension and some brads to add something extra to this card.

This second card is a step-up card from Lori Whitlock, which you can also purchase from the Silhouette Studio library. This card would be perfect for the Dad who is handy around the house (or at least tries to be). If you are looking for the perfect gift for Dad, you can find it at PlumbersStock.com/Milwaukee – they carry a great selection of tools at low prices.

This card was super easy to create. I also used foam adhesives on the drawers to make them look open. I also used the Cricut Metallic paper to give the tools and the toolbox that great shine! After finishing this card, I wish I had used some Cuttlebug folders for the drawers and the tools to give them a little more dimension, so emboss them if you like that idea.
