We are going to start today with the Lost in Paradise Travel Album w/ Notebook Club Kit. These kits come with almost everything you need to create these projects, and they also include easy-to-follow, detailed instructions. For my project, I wanted a different cover then they directed, so I just switched the cards. Note that if you do make a switch, you will likely be using an element from another page and you will have to swap that one as well.

Graphic 45 Magic of Oz Projects

by Richelle Naegle

This year, we decided to bring inย Graphic 45 paper, and we couldn’t be happier with this new line.ย They have lots of paper collections that offer the unique style of the 1920s and 1930s. The design team comprises a Mother and her daughters, and I love that they must have so much fun working together in this industry.

With vibrant colors and irresistible texture, these scrapbook collections will inspire you, and you will enjoy creating beautiful projects.

I decided to show off their fun designs in this blog post with a few Graphic 45 Magic of Oz projects. Of course, these characters come from L. Frank Baum’s 19th-century classic, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. I hope you like them as much as I do.

Without further ado, let’s get to the projects:

Sizzix Chapter 1 2019 Releases

completed fabric project with sloth bigz dieby Richelle Naegle

This year, Sizzix changed how they release their releases. Now, there will just be four releases throughout the year (so they are bigger). This Chapter 1 2019 Sizzix release has some great new dies from your favorite designers, such as Tim Holtz, Jen Long, Katelyn Lizardi, and Stephanie Barnard.ย But we also have some fun new designers that you likely have never heard of, for example,ย Olivia Rose, Georgie Evans, Carrotcake, and more.ย Regardless of what catches your fancy, don’t forget to check out all these new designers.

I thought I should try some of these new Sizzix dies to show you some different projects. My first project was this adorable fabric sloth using the Sizzix Sloth Bigz Die. You can cut felt and other materials with Bigz dies, so don’t limit your creativity. This little sloth is made of felt, and I hand-stitched it together. I’m not much of a seamstress, but even I could easily stitch this.

Travel Journal Ideas

by Richelle Naeglefront view of Heidi Swapp Journal Studio Stripe Journal Kit

This year, I decided that I needed to keep a diary, but I’ve never been much of a journal person. Recently, we’ve brought in lots of cute travel journals, and that’s kind of where my inspiration came from. I got a lot of travel journal ideas from just looking at the products. I think the hardest part of the whole process for getting started was deciding which journal I wanted to use. There are so many options to choose from, from great companies like Simple Stories, Heidi Swapp, Crate Paper, and Webster’s Pages. I started by considering what is the functional difference between them? What makes one better than another? And what’s the difference between a planner, a travelers journal, and Journal Studio?

So, here is what I figured out. Planners have dated calendars. I have seen recently that some people use them to track memories. Instead of using it as a to-do list calendar they are using them as a done list.ย I think it’s a super great idea, but wasn’t quite what I was looking for. With regard to travel journals (also referred to asย pocket travelers) vs. Journal Studio, I couldn’t really find a difference. They are the same size, and the inserts are similar. In fact, they come with one that is blank and one with either lines or grids printed on them. The components are pretty interchangeable. So when choosing your planner and inserts, I suggest picking the ones that make you happy based on taste.

Most Popular Travel Journals

Here are some of our best sellers. They’re hard to keep in stock, for good reason!

  • Soft Lila Suede Pocket Traveler by Webster’s Pages
  • Buffalo Plaid Traveler by Webster’s Pages
  • Carpe Diem Typewriter Floral Traveler’s Notebook by Simple Stories
  • Journal Studio Rose Journal Kit by Crate Paper
  • Last, but not least (and featured in this blog post), the Journal Studio Stripe Journal Kit by Heidi Swapp

Valentine Paper Crafts 2019 – Squirrel Valentine Card & Raccoon Layout

i love you valentine's card projectby Richelle Naegle

Today, I made a couple quick Valentine’s Day crafts using the Silhouette CAMEO 3. You can download the images you see here from the Silhouette Studio. If you want to save some money in the process, buy one of our download cards here at a discounted rate. This first image from my card project is called Woodland Love Squirrel Valentines. She is cut out at 4″ tall, making her perfect for a 4″ x 6″ card. The Pebbles Loves Me collection would work perfectly for this card (and the scrapbook page that I made, as well).

Raccoon Valentine Layout

Naturally, I followed the card up with a Valentine-themed scrapbook layout. The featured photo frame is 5″ x 7″. I normally only take one picture for Valentine’s Day each year, but if you want two photos, swap out my frame for a couple 4″ x 6″ frames. This adorable raccoon, once again, came from the Silhouette Studio. It’s called Woodland Love Raccoon Valentines. I made him about 5″ tall, and the word “Love” is from Love Dog w/ Balloon, but I left the dog out. Iย love the font from that design.

Halloween Craft Projects 2018: Layouts, Cards, Treat Bags, etc.

layout made using simple stories happy halloweenby Richelle Naegle

It’s October, and now I feel like I can officially start creating for Halloween. I love to make spooky and cute crafts. This year, I think I got a little carried away with the scrapbook layouts! There are just too many fun Halloween paper collections to choose from this year. I couldn’t decide which one I wanted to get, so I think I got them all, including:

  • Simple Vintage Halloween
  • Pumpkin Party
  • Spooky Boo
  • Trick or Treat
  • and more!

This first scrapbook layout was not created using any of those product lines. I actually went with the Simple Stories Happy Halloween Collection Kit. This is a perfect solution if you just want to make a couple of pages (or a bunch of cards). It came with a sheet of SN@P Cards that are easy to add as embellishments to your scrapbook pages.

This next layout I made is a design you can download for free (check out the October downloads postย here). The paper collection I used is called Hocus Pocus, and it was designed byย Echo Park.ย I absolutely love this layout that Aaron designed. I had to make it, and it was so easy with the collection kit!
