Sweet Treats Cricut Cartridge Ideas

I don’t know about you, but I go through more Birthday cards in a year than anything else. Between cards for my friends, family, and my kids’ friends, it seems like I am always making a Birthday card. Today, I wanted to make a fun one for a great friend, something she would greatly appreciate, so I put special effort into it. Equipped with the Sweet Treats Cricut cartridge, my imagination, and my friend as inspiration, here is what I came up with:

Making this Card

I used the Sizzix Basic Step Up Card set to cut out the base of the card as well as a couple of the steps to give the card a little layering and variety. All the paper is from the same Hip Hip Hooray Paper stack (by We R Memory Keepers), making it super easy to coordinate paper colors quickly and easily. All of the images were cut out from the Sweet Treats Cricut cartridge, using the following sizes for each of the elements:

  • The cake is patterned cardstock cut out at 3.5″ the party hat at 1.75″
  • the candles at 2″
  • “may all your wishes come true” is cut out at 1.25″

I added a little bit of ribbon and a little bit of faux stitching around the edges. Remember to save on our huge selection of Sizzix dies. One of our most popular collections is Tim Holtz Crazy. If you don’t have a machine that uses dies, check out our selection of Sizzix machines.

This card looks like it took a lot of time, but including planning and sizing it only took about an hour total, so it wasn’t all that much time for such a fun 3D card.

Show off your Cricut projects and Sizzix creations. Have you made some Step Up Cards, or used the Cricut Sweet Treats? Ideas are always welcome please share them with us on our Paper Crafting Fanatics Google+ Page, or even on Facebook. I can’t wait to see what you have created.

Happy creating
