Ho ho ho! Christmas is soon coming, and one of the highlights of this beautiful season is sending and receiving homemade greeting cards. It is a great opportunity to use our creative sides and give a meaningful gift from the heart. A handmade Christmas card clearly states, “I care about you.” Christmas dies are a great way to get started on your projects. This month, we are showcasing two wonderful new die sets by Sizzix. Both are Sizzix Chapter 4 2020 product releases:

You’ll love how Jessie (from the CraftDirect design team) brought these projects to life. Thinlits are popular because they are the most versatile Sizzix dies. You can use them to cut, stencil, and emboss. You can try to copy her as much as possible or do them completely differently. That’s the beauty of paper crafting: the endless creative possibilities.

Santa’s Workshop Thinlits Card Project

The Santa’s Workshop (664495) Thinlits die set used in this card project pictured above is called Santa’s Workshop, and it was designed by Pete Hughes. He’s not a well-known designer (yet), but we love what we’re seeing! It has assorted elements with playful designs and colors. This Christmas card sure screams pure bliss. The happy elf and deer will definitely put a smile on its beholder’s face. There are fun details like the stars, gift-wrapped boxes, and even a Christmas tree. Although it has many small components, the card was easy to assemble.

The complete set includes 20 dies, and clever crafters will find ways to use them other than recreating this specific card. These wafer-thin chemically-etched die sets are designed to cut a single sheet of paper, cardstock, metallic foil, or vellum, helping you create detailed shapes.

Arctic Thinlits Cards

Feel winter’s stunning, cold beauty with these cards made using the Arctic (664967) Thinlits set by Tim Holtz. Jessie made three different versions of this design, and I love them all! It may look complicated, but this design won’t take much of your time to create. It is very simple to make because it’s just one die. And if you’re going to use the emboss capability that Thinlits offers, this is a great option for that (just remember, you need an Impressions pad and silicone rubber sheet).
