With memorial day this weekend, you may be looking for a couple last minute card ideas. So I made some quick cards that you could easily serve your purposes. I’ll show you how I made them.
For this first card (on the right), I used the Big Day font from the Everyday Fonts Cricut cartridge. The overall size of this card is 3″ x 7″ and the font varies in size from 0.5″ to about 1.0″. In the Design Studio I attached the words to a 3″ x 7″ rectangle and it cut them out of the red colored cardstock and I laid it over white cardstock. I did this to avoid having to glue all the individual letters to my project surface. It also helped to keep all the letters lined up perfectly and evenly spaced.
This is all very easy to do if you are using the Cricut Explore Air machine and the Cricut Design Space. You will just need to select all the objects you want together. So in this case, the words and the rectangle. Then you simply right click and select “attach”. Be aware that once you do this, you can’t change your text unless you detach your objects.
After that, I used a little bit of ribbon, and a star embellishment that I had laying around. That’s it for the first Memorial Day card.
For this second card, I used the Summer Celebrations Cricut cartridge for the eagle shape and the Calligraphy Collection Cricut cartridge for the font. I used the Black Cricut 0.25 pen with the Explore Air’s draw feature to write on the card.
I would love to see some of your Memorial Day Cricut cartridge ideas that you have had. Please share them with me on our Facebook page.
