It’s October, and now I feel like I can officially start creating for Halloween. I love to make spooky and cute crafts. This year, I think I got a little carried away with the scrapbook layouts! There are just too many fun Halloween paper collections to choose from this year. I couldn’t decide which one I wanted to get, so I think I got them all, including:

• Simple Vintage Halloween
• Pumpkin Party
• Spooky Boo
• Trick or Treat
• and more!

This first scrapbook layout was not created using any of those product lines. I actually went with the Simple Stories Happy Halloween Collection Kit. This is a perfect solution if you just want to make a couple of pages (or a bunch of cards). It came with a sheet of SN@P Cards that are easy to add as embellishments to your scrapbook pages.

This next layout I made is a design you can download for free (check out the October downloads post here). The paper collection I used is called Hocus Pocus, and it was designed by Echo Park. I absolutely love this layout that Aaron designed. I had to make it, and it was so easy with the collection kit!

Neon Lights Decor Project

Next, I wanted to make some fun holiday decor, and this year, Heidi Swapp has created these fun and super easy-to-make Neon Lights. There are five different kits for Halloween. For this project, you just need a Heidi Swapp Wall Word, the colored wire (of your choice), and two AA batteries (not included). Simply string the colored wire through the wall word. The back of the package shows you how to string the lights. However, once you get started, it’s pretty self-explanatory. Since you don’t have to plug anything in, you can place it anywhere. The lights also have three functions: solid light, slow flickering, and quick flickering light.

Pro tip: pull the wire all the way through so the extra portion is at the end of the project, then use scissors to trim off the excess (otherwise, you will have an extra wire hanging off the edge).

Halloween Card Project

I couldn’t make a Halloween post without trying one of Tim Holtz Halloween dies! These dies sell out so quickly we have difficulty keeping them in stock. I was this Sizzix Laboratory Thinlits dies and felt compelled to get it. Although some pieces are small, this card was so much fun to make.

It was definitely worth the time it took to make this card. I used the Foundry 3-D embossing folder to give the background a bit of pop! I love how this card turned out, and I am looking forward to a couple of the Tim Holtz Christmas dies this year.

Note: If you love the Tim Holtz holiday dies, I suggest you order them now. Most of last year’s dies were retired after the holiday (they did bring a few back this year for a limited time), but they sold out quickly, and we are anticipating that this year’s collection will be retired as well.

Treat Bags

My last Halloween project was these fun treat boxes. They are perfect for giving those you love the most a fun little treat this Halloween. For this craft, I used the Cricut Explore Air 2 machine from one of their ready-to-make projects. Pick up some good-colored cardstock and adhesive, and you’re 70% of the way there.
