Christmas is just around the corner! Have you started making cards yet? This is a fantastic and fun way to unleash your creative side. Limitless possibilities allow you to add your touch to every card to make the holiday greeting more personal. The recipients will certainly appreciate every extra effort you put into these cards. After all, a handmade greeting card sends a message that you put time and thought into this creation. Your loved ones will feel that you care.

Our Christmas dies are the best way to create elegant and unique cards. In this Darling Deer and Leaf Print Thinlits cards post, we feature two artistic die sets (both designed by Tim Holtz) from Sizzix, both from their 2020 chapter 4 release:

• Leaf Print Thinlits Dies

Jessie, from our design team, brought these cards to life. She’s amazing, but you don’t have to be as great as her to create wonderful projects with Thinlits dies. They are easy to use, and the only Sizzix dies you can use to cut, stencil, and emboss. You can use just about any Sizzix die-cutting machine for these projects, but Jessie used a Sizzix Big Shot.

Darling Deer Thinlits Cards

The Darling Deer (664968) Thinlits die set by Tim Holtz is truly a deerling if you ask me. It consists of four dies, and nature lovers will adore it. Incorporate it into your Christmas themes. The Hello Deer and Hi Deer cards featured here are made with deer-shaped cuts from solid color paper stacked on top of patterned paper. With the Merry Christmas Deer, the shape was made by cutting it out of patterned paper and using solid paper as the card base.

The four dies come in different sizes and offer distinct styles, so you can use them all or just one or two in every card. The wafer-thin chemically etched dies will help you create dazzling, detailed deer shapes using a sheet of paper, cardstock, metallic foil, or vellum.

Leaf Print Thinlits Projects

Lift hearts with leaf designs from the Leaf Print (664970) Thinlits die set. This set allows you to score lines onto the cut, which makes the leaves look more realistic. Just like with the deer set, you can use this leaf set for all seasons and occasions. Give a natural vibe to your cards, and get creative with colors!

So check out what Jessie did. The Hello leaf card pops with a 3D effect. She glued both inner and outer pieces on the top of the card to create this masterpiece. About the Believe and Note To Make You Smile Leaf cards, both are cut out from the card and then the outer liner is applied. Leaves never go out of style!

And remember, you can use these dies to create embossed designs in your paper. You need an Impressions pad and a silicone rubber sheet.
