There are about five days left to get your mother’s day projects done, so this week it’s time to get those Cricut mother’s day cards done. For this card I wanted to do something none traditional something without flowers for Mother’s day, maybe even something that would be perfect for a child to give to his Mom. So this is what I came up with…a Mummy superhero card.
I used the mummy from the Mini Monsters Cricut cartridge; she was cut out at 8.32”. Didn’t think I would be using a Halloween themed cartridge for a mother’s day card! But hey, I think using Cricut cartridges from the wrong holidays is a really fun way to show your creativity.
Her cape was cardstock cut out at 4.5” from the Mother’s Day Kid cards this is a Craftroom exclusive cartridge (if you use the craft room or the Design space you can purchase this digital download card to save you even more money).
“You got the love” is from the BOHO Graphics Iron-On cartridge. This design is typically meant for fabric projects with Cricut Iron-on, but really you can use it for anything. I love the saying, I cut it out with just red paper, but if I were to do it again I think I would have used some red vinyl so that I could easily transfer the image on my project easier and the spacing would have been better. The letters are pretty small the image was cut out at 1.25”. What I am impressed with is that the Cricut Explore cut those little letters out really well and I didn’t have any problems getting them to cut that small, the letters themselves are about 0.25” tall so that’s pretty dang small.
Share Your Cricut Mother’s Day Card
I love how this card turned out. Do you have any fun nontraditional Cricut Mother’s Day cards or other holiday cards that you have made? I would really love to see them share them with me on our Paper Crafting Fanatics Google+ page. Remember that Cricut tools will make your project easier!
Happy creating!
