There is a fun new product line from one of our favorite brands, Crate Paper. If you’ve ever wanted to decorate with watercolor, then you need to check out the Color Reveal collection. I am so excited about what I made.
I found out that these projects are both very fun and easy to do. It’s a great idea for arts and crafts time for kids. All you do is use a brush with the Color Reveal watercolor set to paint/color the backgrounds of the various designs from the same collection. There are dozens of different options to choose from.
The designs (panels, kits, etc.) have canvas backgrounds and gold foiled image (and most also have a white image on it as well). The foil will resist the watercolor, which is a pretty cool feature. You don’t have to be so careful with the detail aspect of these projects.
The pictured project is the Love Watercolor Heart Panel. My #1 tips are that you should be sure to use lots of water. You want to make sure the project is wet before you add the color to it. Follow the included instructions for more specific direction.
I added multiple colors in order to give this heart a loud look. It took me nearly 15 minutes and after finishing I really wanted to do another one! You will want to grab a couple of different designs, or you will regret having just one as I did.
I think a project that would be really fun for kids is this Color Reveal Watercolor Frame (pictured to the left). A picture says a thousand words, especially a picture with a frame you decorated!
When you get yours done, I would love to see how it turned out. Please share them with me on Instagram with the hashtag #craftdirect
Remember that we also carry Crate Paper cardstock and it’s wonderful. Happy creating!
