Easter Scrapbook Layout Tutorial – Silhouette Project

by Richelle Naegle

This weekend I have been scrapbooking a lot and making many pages, trying to get caught up on life’s most recent events. Scrapbook pages can take a lot of time, and much of that time is wasted searching for matching cardstock and embellishments. I don’t enjoy spending my time doing this, and that’s why I so often go with Simple Stories Collection Kits! The 12″ x 12″ patterned cardstock sheets and included embellishments already match. Look what I made with the Easter Collection Kit:easter scrapbook layout tutorial completed layout design

Simple Stories Sports Scrapbook Collection Kits

by Richelle Naegle

The new Simple Stories sports collection kits are perfect if you are trying to create a scrapbook layout for your favorite little athlete! Simple Stories is well known for offering scrapbookers the best kinds of solutions. There is a collection kit for just about every sport and they make it super easy to throw together quick projects.

Sports-Themed Layout Projects

I used different colors of Premium Cardstock by Core’dinations to add photo boards and an occasional die cut, but for the most part, everything (the stickers and cardstock) came from the collection kits. Many of their new releases are sports-themed paper packs. You can find all the collection kits on our Simple Stories paper page.

The above image is a design made from the Baseball Collection Kit. Each set comes with 6 sheets of patterned cardstock. Obviously, I only used 2 of them. Four more 12″ x 12″ pages can be made, or you can cut them up to make photo pockets and other additions.

St. Patrick’s Day Crafts 2017 – Layout & Card Ideas

Elmo St. Patrick's Day Card Ideaby Richelle Naegle

Today is your lucky day; in this post, you get not one, but three St. Patrick’s Day projects! Sorry, I know St. Patty’s is just a couple days away, but I’m just barely getting to around to making these. But better late than never, I always say. So today, we are going to start out with this fun card I made using the Sesame Street Celebrations Cricut cartridge. It features all your favorite Sesame Street characters in designs that are great solutions for a variety of holidays. The card I chose features Elmo, my favorite Sesame Street character. This card ended up being 6″ x 6″ and Elmo was cut out at 6″ with my Cricut Explore Air 2.

The second card I made is one of Aaron’s designs that we offered with our March 2017 downloads as part of our huge library of free .SVG Downloads. When I saw this card, I was immediately in love with it. I used my Silhouette CAMEO 3 to cut this card out at 4″ x 6″. It was just 3 easy cuts and I love the results!

CGull just released the new Ultimate Machine & Scrapbooking Tote and there are two options to choose from:

We also have Ultimate Tote & CAMEO 3 bundles available, so be sure to check those out if you need a new machine.

Many customers are wondering what the differences are when you compare it to existing craft bags. We decided to compare it to one of our favorites, so here it is: We R Memory Keepers 360 Crafter’s Bag vs CGull Ultimate Machine Tote.

Both of these companies are very good at what they do. We R Memory Keepers offers a number of popular products for all types of crafts. Although CGull has a variety of products, including their new Mini Die-Cutter/Embosser, they are mostly known for making great craft totes.

CHA 2017 – New Products from Sizzix

bouquet of flowers made with SizzixBy Richelle Naegle

I’m super excited to be going to CHA again this year (it started today)! It’s a great time to see what new products are coming out in 2017. Of course, one of my favorite booths to visit is always the Sizzix booth, largely because Sizzix dies are the best in the world.

Sizzix offers lots of great products from all your favorite designers that you have come to know and love, such as Jen Long, Stephanie Barnard, Lori Whitlock, and so many more.

This year, Sizzix is also partnering with newcomer David Tutera (watch for his line that is being released in March, which we will have up and ready for pre-sell in February). So don’t miss out on his new dies and stamps, and he even has some kits that will make it super easy to create beautiful wreaths, planners, bouquets (pictured, top right), and boutonnieres.

Cricut Valentine’s Day Craft Projects

by Richelle Naeglevalentine's layout made with Sweetheart Cricut cartridge

I know it’s only January, but before you know it, Valentine’s Day will be here. I’m getting started a little early and the paper crafter inside of me is OK with that. Today, I made a scrapbook layout and a greeting card.

Note: If you are looking for more Valentine’s themed inspiration, check out our Sizzix Village Surf Shack project from a week ago, or scroll through our older Valentine’s posts.

For the layout, I made a 12 x 12 design using designer cardstock. Normally, I don’t like to do just one picture alone for an entire scrapbook page, but in this case, I made an exception. We are going to capture our love with a group photo on this layout.

I used the Sweetheart Cricut Cartridge to make the balloon heart bouquet and this was a great opportunity to get rid of some leftover paper scraps. The idea of paper strings didn’t really appeal to me, so I used ribbon instead. I think it gives the page more depth, personally. The our love and the hearts shapes along the bottom come from the Love Photolights Rub Ons set. This layout is super easy and quick to make.

Sizzix Village Surf Shack Project Ideas

by Richelle NaegleSizzix Village Surf Shack Tim Holz Valentine's project

After doing the Halloween Village Manor project, I fell in love with this collection. I wanted to make a Christmas-themed house, but time got away from me, and other holiday crafts and obligations got in the way! With Christmas just a few days away, I figured I would get a jump start on Valentine’s and make my Village Surf Shack project a romantic cabana. As you probably already know, I don’t need much of an excuse to make my projects pink.

Making This Surf Shack

Pro tip: just like with any project in this collection, you have to start with the Village Dwelling die. That is the foundation for every other die in the series.
