Fancy Boxes Cricut Cartridge Ideas

by Richelle NaegleFancy Boxes Pyramid Box project

If you love making your own boxes, you won’t want to miss out on the brand-new Fancy Boxes Cricut cartridge. It has 10 new boxes that you can cut out, each with five different designs or sayings, giving you a total of 50 fun new boxes to make. As soon as I got a hold of this cartridge, I had to make a couple of creations.  I started off with the Pyramid Box. I cut it out at 14″, which made it fit perfectly on a 12″ x 12″ sheet of patterned paper.

The one thing to note with this box that I did not realize until it was too late is that once I glued all the edges, I had no way of putting anything inside. I went back and looked at all the other boxes and even the other pyramids, and they all have holes at the top so you could tie up the edges and put a nice bow on them, but this one doesn’t offer that. I’m not sure why, but it doesn’t, so if you’re like me and love this box, make sure you punch a hole at the top. You probably already thought of that, and I’m not sure why I didn’t think of that before I used tacky tape (which is great for boxes!).

Country Life Cricut Cartridge Ideas

card made with Country Life cartridgeby Richelle Naegle

Today, I made one of those Cricut cards that can be used for just about any occasion. I call it “that’ll do pig” for that reason. You could add “Thank you,” “Get well soon,” or “Just thinking of you”  sentiments.

This card was made with the Country Life Cricut cartridge. The pig and chicken are all in one image and were cut out at 4″.

I wanted the pig to be pink and the chicken to be a different hue, so I cut their top layer out twice. If you want to simplify it with one color, you should find a neutral option.

Birthday Bash Cricut Cartridge Ideas

by Richelle Naegle

homemade project Celebrate Aligator CardWith summer here, my kids seem to have Birthday parties every week, and buying cards for kids just seems like a huge waste of money to me. But I have found that if I give them a homemade Cricut card with a fun animal or something they are interested in, they at least look at them a little bit longer. So, I’m always looking for new and fun ideas for Birthday cards. I don’t like to make a ton of one design and give them all out. It would probably be easier to do them that way, but I don’t feel they are as personal or fun. I like to make one at a time for a specific person. That’s why I love this cartridge.

Interchangeable Embossing Folders by CGull

By Richelle Naegle

I recently got a hold of some new Embossing Folders that are unlike any other that I have ever seen. They are interchangeable embossing folders by CGull, which is the company that makes fabulous rolling totes for Cricut machines. Here are the two folders they have released thus far:

Banner Interchangeable Embossing Folder

5 options for this interchangeable embossing folderThis first is the Banner interchangeable embossing folder (with  5 sayings) that you can pop into the banner part of the folder. With this one embossing folder, you can emboss the Thank You, Thinking of You, It’s a Party, Happy Birthday, and Congratulations—all with one pass through your embossing machine. These dies will work with most embossing machines, such as the Cuttlebug, eBosser, and many others.

Then, if you wanted, you could add some kind of embellishment to the center frame or just leave it plain. Here is my simple sample of what you can make with them. I kept these super simple so you can see what you can make with these fun embossing folders without adding any extra work or detail. I just embossed each of the sayings with the folder and then lightly inked each so they would stand out. Super easy.
