How To Use Sizzix Thinlits – Card-Tri-Shutter

I love many of Sizzix’s new die-cut cards lately. Their unique shapes make them stand out without adding lots of extra work.

These cards are great, and you can make them without Sizzix dies, but trust me, they are so much easier when you don’t have to do all that measuring and calculating to make sure you are cutting, slicing, and scoring in just the right places.

For example, check out this Friends Forever Step Up card. I seriously can’t wait to get a hold of it. OK, so back to the project, I used the Tri-Shutter Card from our friends at Sizzix.

It’s been a while since I had a chance to make a scrapbook layout, which is sad because scrapbooking is my passion for paper crafting. I really should scrapbook more! For this layout, I used the New Bits and Pieces Cricut cartridge. This cartridge has a lot of great, simple images, making it ideal for layouts. Especially when you think about how much time goes into a layout. I have spent 3+ hours on one layout, so the ability to make something this adorable this quickly is great for me. The filmstrip banner is patterned cardstock cut 4” wide, and I made it about 11.5” tall.
The hot air balloons are 3.50” and 4.75”.
The clouds at 1.25”, 1.5”, 1.75”, and 2”
The banner is 1.70”.
Each of the picture spots is for a 4” x 6” photo, and the large one on the first page is for a 5” x 7” photo.

Pretty Packages Cricut Cartridge Ideas

The Pretty Packages Cricut cartridges have been flying off our shelves, and it’s no wonder because of all the fun and creative projects you can make with this cartridge. I wish I had a whole day that I could just play with this cartridge and do nothing else. I think I would make just about everything. But since, like most of you, I have to work and fit crafting in my “spare time,” I made just two (at least for now). 🙂

Christmas Box Project

I started with the cube box, made out of patterned paper cut out at 13″, making the box about 2″ square (so it’s a small box). I would make them bigger if it were a treat box. OK, I know you’re thinking it’s just a square box, but it’s more than that. This little box has 4 compartments to fill it with 4 different treats. I think this box is great for fun holiday gift-giving.
