Hello! This last week has been so busy – schools are back in session around here so I had to get my son ready for 1st grade and all the craziness that comes with that. Remember to save on Explore Air machines here at CraftDirect.
I haven’t had as much time as I like to craft, but that will change this weekend. I am so excited! My sister is coming up, and my kids are spending the weekend at grandma’s, so it will be a nice long weekend of scrapbooking and crafting! I am so excited; I can’t wait!
But in the meantime, I’ve been able to create a card with Cricut for my poor friend…this weekend, she got hurt and knocked her two front teeth out. She had to have them put back in, so she is trying to recover for a few days, and I wanted to make her something that will cheer her up a little. So I threw together this quick card so that she knows I’m thinking about her and hopefully to make her smile a little.
Flower Card Details
To start with this card, the overall size of the patterned cardstock is 6.5″ x 5″, so it’s not quite a square card but also not a standard-sized card. This card was made using a few different cartridges; if you don’t have these cartridges, you could find similar ones on a cartridge you already have, such as the flower. A lot of cartridges have beautiful flowers on them. Or, if you have always wanted these cartridges, we have them on sale right now, so you can pick them up for a great price. 🙂 For this card, the flower is from the Straight from the Nest Cricut cartridge. It was cut out at 3″. The vines were cut out from the Cindy Loo Cricut cartridge at 2.25″, and the background is from the Elegant Edges Cricut cartridge at 5.75″.
I Love You Card
How better to show someone how much you love them than making them a handcrafted Valentine’s Day card? Straight from the Nest is not the first cartridge that you would normally look to when making a Valentine’s card, but this cartridge actually has some great phrases in it like Who Loves You?, You Make My (heart) Flutter, Sweetheart, and a lot more! This cartridge also has some great phrases for Birthday cards. I will use this cartridge again next time I need to make some birthday cards.
For this card I really loved the flourish that it had, this cartridge does have quite a few fun ones, be sure to check them out. The overall size of the card is 5” x 5”, and the image was cut from craft cardstock at 4.5”. The heart is from the Pink Journey Cricut cartridge and was cut out at 2” and then stamped with I love you as the sentiment. To give this card the extra bling that we all love, I used the Uptown Girl Sparkle Lightz and placed them between the little cutouts. I loved this project because I used two of my favorite Cricut cartridges.
I love how they both turned out! I hope she will as well. I know many of you have done great projects using the Straight from the Nest Cricut cartridge Ideas, so share them with me on our Facebook page so I can see what you are making and be inspired by you. Also, be sure to check back on Thursday. You will also want to make sure you have fresh Cricut mats and blades, too.
Happy creating!
