Valentine’s 2018 Paper Craft Projects

Valentine’s, or as I like to call it, the big heart day, is almost here. One of my new year’s resolutions is to stop being a papercraft slacker! This year, I am going to get my holiday crafts done early, starting with my Valentine’s paper craft projects. If you need some help meeting your goals, whether they are related to crafts or not, you should download our free SVG files.

Valentine’s Greeting Cards

For this first card, I used my Silhouette CAMEO 3. The overall size of the card is 4.25″ x 5.5″, and I found the cute puppy at the Silhouette Store. The design is called Love Dog w/ Balloon. I cut the image out at about 3.5″ tall, from the bottom of LOVE to the top of the heart balloon.

I made this design using the Sizzix Victorian Frame Bigz XL Die by Brenda Walton. I made a card out of it, but it would be excellent as a photo frame to decorate your fridge.

If you have Victoria Frame die, break it out and get going on a project. I forgot how much I liked it. It has been retired and is no longer available, but if you are looking for a frame die, I love this Staxables Frame Bigz Die that allows you to create interlocking photo frames.

After cutting your frame card, you just add whatever sentiment or die-cut shapes to decorate it the way you want it. That’s the beauty of die-cutting projects. No matter how many times you repeat a design, you can make it a little different in each case.

Valentine’s Layout

I also made the above scrapbook layout. I usually only take one picture on Valentine’s day, so I figure this simple layout will work just perfect! Sometimes making quick and easy designs is necessary. You can’t spend hours on every layout. When I want to make a fast project, I use a scrapbook kit. This particular collection kit is called Main Squeeze, by Crate Paper. There are matching paper and embellishments; the only struggle is the decision to about which ones to use, and which to leave aside.

Home Decorating Idea

My last project is something I do every year. All you do is cut out hearts in a few different sizes and different colored paper; it’s a great way to get rid of extra scraps of paper. I write things I love about the person on the hearts; then I add stickers or other embellishments to them. I also found something on Pinterest that was similar to this, where you put a heart on your kid’s door every day, starting on February 1st through Valentine’s day. I thought it sounded like a great way to remind your kids (or your spouse) what you love about them. It’s a super easy and inexpensive way to spread the love!

I hope you have enjoyed these fun Valentine’s crafts. I would love to see what you have created for your loved ones. Share them with me on our Facebook page.

Happy creating!
