“Anyone who says sunshine brings happiness has never danced in the rain.” – Unknown
I love this quote and it’s partly what inspired this spring Cricut project idea. We live by this quote at my house. It’s basically a party when it rains (we live in the high desert) and we play outside. We don’t even get dressed up in boots and raincoats, we just go for it. We’ve even been known to go without our shoes. We are just there to play in the rain, splash in the puddles, and enjoy the day!
So, with all that in mind, you can imagine I make a lot of rainy day scrapbook pages. Good thing Cricut makes it easy to come up with great themed designs. I got really creative with this project.
Making this Spring Layout
This layout is made with a variety of different Cricut cartridges. The cute animals are from one of the most popular cartridges of all time, the Create A Critter cartridge. And I’m talking the original, but both give you fun options so I recommend including both in your personal library. The umbrellas are from the Disney Pooh and Friends cartridge, Photo Booth Props cartridge, and the Forever Young cartridge. Rainy Day phrase is from When I was a Kid cartridge, and so are the picture frames. The hat on the turtle is from the Create a Friend cartridge (he originally had a Halloween hat on but a rain hat seemed to fit so much better). For this layout, I also used the Splendid Sunshine Paper Collection Kit from Echo Park! made this layout super easy to coordinate because of the paper all matches so well.
In all, this layout was pretty easy, but it was very time-consuming. I love how it turned out, so now we just need to wait for the rain so I can get more pictures! I would love to see some of the scrapbook layouts that you have created! Share them on our Google+ Paper Crafting Fanatics page, or share them on Facebook. I can’t wait to see all the fun scrapbook pages you have created.
