Simply Charmed Cricut Cartridge Projects

by Richelle Naegle

One of the most popular cartridges of the last few years, the Simply Charmed Cartridge offers cute options for card-making. Use this classic cartridge with the Cricut Explore Air 2 and many other Cricuts. Here are a few examples of projects I’ve done with this cartridge.

Make Lemonade

simply charmed cartridge card projectThe Simply Charmed cartridge made this summertime card fun and simple.  The overall size of the card is 4 x 6 inches.

The words “Make Lemonade” are cut out at 1.5″ and the Lemonade cup is cut out at 2.5″

I got creative and tied it all together with a little bit of craft ribbon and a soda tab! We also used the 1/4″ corner rounder on the corners.

The craft paper is from We-R-Memory Keepers and it’s the popular Down the Boardwalk paper collection.  This collection is beautiful and will help you unleash your creativity.

Thanksgiving Turkey

I wanted to make the perfect turkey, and I’m not talking about baking the turkey in the oven. For this turkey, you just need some fun paper, your Cricut Ribbons & Rosettes, and Simply Charmed cartridges. This post is a little long, but I want to make it as easy as possible and have some pictures along the way.

For each of the layers of feathers, I cut out the “feathers” and a circle to glue the “feathers” into.

For the large back “feather” layer I cut the rosette at 3″ and the circle at 8″ both from the Ribbons & Rosettes cartridge. Punch a little hole in the very top of the circle if you want to hang it on the wall, it’s probably easier to do before you glue everything together. 🙂

The middle layer is 2.5″ with a 6″ circle

The smaller layer is 2″ with a 5″ Circle

On the circles cut off the bottom half of the circle about 2.5″ on the large one and 2″ on the middle and 1.5″ on the smaller one. These are approximate, hard to measure exactly how big to cut the cardstock circle so just use your best judgment.

Then using a glue gun (or you could use any quick dry glue. Glue the “feathers from left to right on the circle. I made sure that both ends of my rosette were laying down flat so that it held together better. Here is a picture of that:

turkey tail 2 - step by step how toI also did glue about every third one down, so that it held together on the circle.

I did three layers of these, and then used the glue gun to put a small strip of glue on the back of the circle to glue them on top of each other.

Then using the Simply Charmed cartridge I cut just the body of the turkey out at 10″ along with this beak and gobbler. I used Megan Elizabeth Hay Jealousy Sparkle lights for his eyes. You could also use googly eyes, they would be super cute as well. Then just string your ribbon or rope through the hole (if you want to hang it on the wall).

He is about 2″ thick, you could make him ticker by adding more layers, just make them about .5″ larger or smaller depending on how big you want to make him.

Happy New Year

happy new year card made with Cricut Simply CharmedThis Happy New Years layout was created using Simply Charmed and the Wild Card Cricut cartridge.

The bottles are cut out at 4” from Simply Charmed and the Happy New Year is 3” (using the real dial size) So it’s 3” high.

The blue and gold squares are 2” and just represent small photo’s placed around the main one, which is for a 5” x 7”  Super easy and quick layout to start out the New Year!
