Christmas will be here so quickly and I haven’t even prepared my Christmas cards yet! I’m so behind this year, but it’s OK. Santa forgives slackers. I finally got started with this card, and I love the way it turned out. That’s usually the case when Anna Griffin and Cricut team-up. They make such great designs together.
This card was made from two of my Cricut favorites: the Anna Griffin Winter Wonderland and Anna Griffin’s Christmas Kitsch. And if you haven’t seen them in action, let me just tell you these are instant classic cartridges for a reason. I love how the Winter Wonderland cartridge has so many layers! Just for this snowflake alone, there are seven layers. That kind of functionality allows you to add so much detail in your card-making projects.
Save on Christmas-themed cardstock!
Making the Card
This creation is a standard 4″ x 6″ card and the snowflakes were cut out at 5.75 inches using the Winter Wonderland cartridge, I didn’t use the shadow on the snowflakes, though, so only six of the colored scrapbook paper layers and three colors were involved, but you are welcome to use more if you want more colorful snowflakes. Then the phrase Merry Christmas is from the Christmas Kitsch cartridge, and it was cut out at 2.25 inches using the Cricut Explore.
In retrospect, this card took no time at all to make, and I had a lot of fun. I just need to make more time for this sort of thing. As I’m sure you know, it can be a great reliever of stress, and it always makes me feel good when a loved one appreciates the thoughtfulness I put into their hand-made greeting card.
Do you have any Anna Griffin Christmas cards you have created? She really has been on fire lately, with all the new design releases. I would love to see how you have put all her cartridges into action, so share links to them here, or post them on our Google+ or Facebook page!
