If you’re like me, you take lots of pictures for your kids’ birthday parties. My little boy is having a birthday this upcoming weekend and he absolutely loves dogs, so my choice in images was an easy one. I found these cute dogs in the Silhouette Design Studio Library! I used the NEW 12″ x 12″ Let’s Party paper pack from Simple Stories, as well as plain colored cardstock. The great thing about this collection is it has a lot of the primary colors, which are ideal for birthday themes, in my opinion.

Happy Birthday Layout

For the first page, the cute puppy is cut out at about 5.5″ high and the Happy Birthday is 4″ tall. The banner was created just by cutting out 0.5″ triangles that I glued down to a string. The photo slot is for a 5″ x 7″ image. I also included a Simple Stories Everyday Memorabilia Pocket so that I could add a journaling card later.

The second page has (4) 3″ x 3″ photo slots as well as (1) 4″ x 6″. Instead of just gluing down the photo squares on the left side, I used some washi tape to accent the page without a lot of extra work. I love how it turned out! One great thing about washi is when I didn’t initially like the placement, it was easy to move the decorative tape without damaging the layout. The puppy on this page is 7″ tall (including his hat).

I love how this scrapbook layout turned out. The CAMEO 3 really did the trick. Get stocked up on Silhouette accessories. I can’t wait to add some fun pictures to it!

Birthday Balloon Banner

At our house, we try and make a big deal out of someone’s birthday. And by “big deal”, I mean doing the little things that make the kids feel special all day long! My sister started making clever banners for each of my kids a few years back and they absolutely love them. The first year they left them up all year! This year, I made a new one to hang above my boy’s door so he sees it when he wakes up. I found this cute Balloon Banner in the Silhouette Library. I cut out two of them and glued them together and added the Happy Birthday using one of the fonts on my computer. It measures about 20″ long, so it will be a perfect fit on his door.
